Big Dawg – CEO / Moneyside Records / Jackson, Ms
I have owned my own independent label for about 5 years now and have spent tons money on putting together my artist roster. Only to still be in the same spot as where I started. Then after I read the info on how to get a record deal, I suddenly started developing my artist with the info. And now we are doing three shows a week and selling at least a 1000 mixtapes per week at $8 a pop. I just wanna say thanks for the help.

Wisdom / rapper/singer / Compton, CA
This site is the bomb foreal cause I was able to change my demo up after reading “the reasons why demos get rejected” right before I was gonna give it to a big time manager and after he checked out my demo, he was calling me back in like a hour to sign me up to their management firm. Hey thanks yaw.
When we turn on the TV. Or go online and check out your favorite rapper. We see them with a tuff gangsta / drug dealin / been shot and been to jail image. Where as we all tend to see what we believe. But that is not actually the truth cause you can go to Disneyland and see a man dressed as a pirate, but that does not make him a real pirate cause that is merely his job being the attraction and nothing more.
How about a lot of money? Yeah that seems to be the one sure thing behind every star. There are always major labels with deep pockets that know how to spend the money to push their acts into the hearts and minds of the public. But think about if you already had your own money for your career? And I can show you multiple ways to make money outside of music. For your music.
The music business is just that, “ a business” and like any other major business like Pepsi or coke, you will need some qualifications and experience to work there. As the major record companies feel the exact same way about a recording artist and only sign the artist with the “right” qualifications.

Due to the very large amounts of musical artist and entrepreneurs perusing careers in the music industry (something around 10million people) Where there is an extreme lack in a professional grade of artist development and therefore an artist with any sort of potential is passed on by record labels, managers and agents, etc. due to a very high risk of failure involved in breaking new artist to the masses.
So with my musical experience I do know all the things that A&R’s as well as managers and agents are looking for when signing new talent. So after you having been developed and showing permanent signs of a genuine and marketable star quality. You will be ready to make large amounts of money.
Everyday the music industry is working hard, looking for new talent but they never really sign new artist or work with new independent labels. Want to know why? Then I can tell you why.
As a former recording industry executive who has worked with thousands of recording artist, managers and record label executives over the years and have come to know all the secrets, tricks and tips (that the big record companies don’t want you to know).
